Chapter 87 - 87: Damn Monkey: Blood Arrow

Chapter 87 - 87: Damn Monkey: Blood Arrow

The Monkey King's heart sank as he felt it again—a chilling, deathly aura clinging to its body.

Its instincts screamed at him and without hesitation, he summoned a clone who shot ahead, its original body erupting in a violent explosion.

The force of the blast hurled the Monkey King forward, its clone obliterated as the real him stumbled away, its breaths ragged and uneven.

The monkey didn't dare look back.

"Why don't you stay and fight?" Alex's provoked and the Monkey King's stomach churned.

"Running has never saved anyone from me, and it will not start with you."

The words burrowed into the Monkey King's mind, each syllable heavy with dread.

Its legs pumped harder, Its body moving in sheer desperation.

But no matter how fast he ran, the weight of Alex's gaze pressed on him, unrelenting.

There's no escape, he thought, panic settling deep in his bones.

The Monkey King could feel it—the creeping inevitability of death just a step behind him.

Every step felt like it was getting harder, his muscles protesting as his breath came in ragged bursts.

If I slow down just a bit… it'll be over.

He pushed himself harder, forcing his legs to move, but deep inside, he knew that it was futile.

As he sprinted through the dense terrain, something shifted in the air.

The ground beneath his feet changed, the trees thickened, and the landscape seemed to take on a more wild, untamed energy.

He was in Beast lord territory.

Even if he died here, the Monkey King had a sliver of hope.

The beast lord won't forgive this human for causing chaos in its domain.

The beasts that ruled these lands were powerful—stronger than the Monkey King himself. And if any of them noticed Alex, they'd hunt him down without a second thought.

Behind him, Alex was relentless.

His footsteps were steady, his movements almost lazy, as if the chase was a game to him.

He could have used [Blur], a skill he gained from a certain speed god's foolishness, to close the gap in an instant, but he didn't.

He had noticed the shift in the environment as well and could tell they were in the domain of a powerful beast.

He had maintained his pace, using the pursuit to recover the mana he had spent so far. There was a chance he'd get into another battle and he wanted to fight at 100%, so he allowed his reserves to recharge.

But now, with his mana fully restored, he deemed it was time to end this.

He didn't plan to let the Monkey King escape—not now, not ever.

Alex activated [Blur], his figure vanishing in a sudden burst of speed.

In an instant, he consumed an immense distance, the ground beneath him trembling faintly from the sheer force of his step.

The Monkey King felt a rush of air blow past him, his instincts screaming that something was wrong.

He snapped his head to the side,

"Someone's trying to steal my kill. How gutsy."

His expression then darkened in an instant, turning deadly serious.

And in a flash, Alex was gone, heading straight for the source of the blood arrows.
