Chapter 146 Chain Effect
Chapter 146 Chain Effect
Chain Effect
'Norn.' Christopher gave a short mental command, and the dagger vibrated slightly before flying out of her sheath and entering his outstretched hand.
Christopher took a deep breath and exhaled, and following the exhale, the area where his will was imposed... didn't change.
To the naked eye that is.
To those who can observe fate, however, they'd be able to see that the fragmented fate threads suddenly shook and went still.
Then, from Christopher's chest, a single thread emerged and went forward. It touched the closest broken thread, and that thread somehow repaired itself, and then it split off and attached itself to the closest threads, which repaired themselves and split off to attach to the threads closest to them, and so on.
Gradually, like a domino effect, the threads started to regain order and stability.
It started small, but gradually, it sped up and became wider and all-encompassing.
In a few minutes, the tapestry was as large as a mountain, and a second after that, it was several times that size.
Remember, Christopher was selectively overwriting the fate of the hidden realm, so it wasn't everything he intended to fix. Just enough for him and his people to use. But even then, a tapestry made up of billions of lives, creatures, events, items, and so on was bound to be extremely large.
That's why the size of it was incredible.
However, it was at this point that whatever was causing the interference of fate seemed to become alarmed, as at that moment, Christopher felt a powerful presence trying to destroy his progress.
'So you've finally shown yourself, eh?' He grinned behind his mask. Despite the heavy burden on his mind and the fact that this presence seemed to be of a higher existence than Christopher, he wasn't perturbed.
Instead, he chuckled.
"Alright then, you bastard, show me what you've got!" Then, without holding back, Christopher allowed his will to sweep through the surrounding area like a tide.
He hadn't tried to use the maximum capacity of his willpower to do anything before. So now that he did, the results were quite impressive, to say the least.
Before, it had merely stretched over a few thousand kilometers. But now it easily crossed the hundred thousand kilometers mark, and the number was still climbing.
Moreover, it wasn't just an increase in range, as the authority his will carried also increased proportionally.
Now, if anyone who had a similar ability to impose their will saw how Christopher was doing it, they would be appalled by just how inefficient and haphazard it was. There was no structure to it, and it looked like he was just throwing it at whatever it was he was competing against.
But if they were about to get worse...
The ship they were on suddenly shook violently, and many of the handlers had to grab the thing closest to them to balance themselves.
"What was that?" Constella, who hadn't moved an inch, asked the head handler who regained his footing. But when he looked at his control panel to see the cause of the disturbance, his face blanched.
"S-Several Apex level weather anomalies are occurring at the same time!" He exclaimed, and as if on cue, everyone watched from the control room as the sky suddenly turned dark.
"Activate the shields at maximum power!" Constella didn't hesitate and gave the order. The handler barked the instruction into his comms and all the ships followed suit, and a moment later, each ship was surrounded by a shimmering barrier that resembled a nebula.
Not even a second after that, all hell broke loose.
Several parts of the darkened clouds started to swirl before turning into devastating funnels that descended like pillars from the sky, each as large as a category five hurricane with hundreds of times the power.
When they touched down, the ground was completely devastated as massive chunks of earth and ice were thrown into the sky like they were toys.
That wasn't all, as mountain-sized hail began pouring from these clouds with a frequency that doubled that of rain clouds.
After that, lightning bolts as thick as water tanks began to rain down en masse with horrifying consistency, and the ground exploded with the force of a nuclear bomb when each bolt landed.
This was the theme for hundreds of thousands of miles, and this wasn't the only place suffering from such intense weather anomalies.
Constella stood up with a serious look on her face as she gave an order.
"Chart out the best route for us to pass through. Inform the other Apex ranks to aid me in defending the fleet." With that, she teleported to the top of the ship.
Herta meanwhile, was troubled.
'First was the massive ripple that occurred through the grander tapestry, and now the fate inside this place is going haywire. Is there a connection?' Before she could mull over her thoughts, the ship shook violently and she was almost thrown off her feet.
The Handler gritted his teeth and his mind went into overdrive as he chartered the safest path through the cataclysmic storm and relayed that information to the other handlers from other ships.
Meanwhile, above the ship, Constella as well as some other Apex-ranked Starwalkers could be seen resisting the terrible elements fiercely.
Several mountain-sized hail chunks descended towards her and she waved her hand. The chunks froze before exploding into harmless snowpowder.
Then she created a barrier that looked like a small galaxy that resisted an onslaught of lightning bolts.
This was just a small part of the chaos occurring within the hidden realm as well, as the other clans and Scions were going through this insanity as well.
