That's An Issue

It didn't take too long before Titus was forced to join the fray of the intense battle.

At that point, the big bosses of the army had finally entered the battle, prompting Titus' more elite soldiers to enter the battle as well.

As for Titus himself, he was currently engaged in a fierce battle of his own.

Titus had once again entered that deep state of concentration and "flow" he had entered so many times before.

His mind was perfectly clear and was moving at speeds far beyond its typical capacity, allowing him to process large amounts of information and make precise decisions in a heartbeat.

Something that came in handy considering that his opponent was no pushover.

Titus dodged a set of claws, with each one being as long as a spear and left deep scratches in the ground before the ground exploded in a shower of ice and snow.

He backed up a bit and dodged another attack, and another, and another.

The attacks came like an unending stream. A stream that desired to take his life.

His opponent was a large white wolf with crystal blue eyes that were filled with cold killing intent.

Not only was the beast powerful, but it was also smart. It played its cards well and used its abilities with deadly precision and efficiency.

The scale of their battle made sure that no beast dared approach them for almost a kilometer, allowing them to freely express their power without worrying about collateral damage. Though Titus only cared about his soldier's lives, he doubted the Wolf cared about any.

He dodged another deadly attack by a hair's breadth, and his body flashed gold and vanished before the ground beneath him exploded into terribly sharp ice shards.

When he reappeared, two massive paws were smashing down on his position, forcing him to retreat once more before deflecting several well-placed ice projectiles that aimed to turn him into a sieve.

Then suddenly, the wolf locked eyes with Titus, and Titus staggered as a terrible cold filled his body, and his movements grew sluggish and rigid for a moment.

A moment the wolf took advantage of.

Without hesitation, it lunged forward and bit down fiercely on Titus, its teeth ripping through his torso as his upper body was devoured.

However, instead of tasting the familiar tang of blood or feeling the familiar sensation of its teeth through flesh, the wolf felt like it had bitten through hollow glass.

Before it could Pinder on this feeling though, a surge of Mana appeared above it and it looked up to see Titus with his sword raised high above his head, light condensing around it to form a massive sword of light.

He noted Raya and his other elite soldiers were doing the same thing, and up in the sky, he could make out the large figure of Tristan ripping apart several flying beasts with his entourage of soldiers with flight-type abilities, the C-Rams and machine guns supporting them.

The rain of artillery shells never stopped and continued to blow beasts apart, and the scary but strangely exciting sounds of the Railguns continued to echo throughout the battlefield.

The various ranged abilities and snipers were hard at work supporting their melee comrades at the base of the wall. All in all, things were going fairly well.

Which made Titus concerned.

Beast tides weren't a strange concept. Even on his world, before Christopher had assimilated it, beast tides occurred periodically, and they usually happened when a powerful enough beast led a large number of weaker beasts.

That or something had appeared that was valuable enough to draw the attention of a large number of beasts. Which was the case here.

As for why Titus was concerned, he didn't know what the ice crystal in the base was, but if it was valuable enough to draw the attention of these many beasts, it was gonna be enough to draw the attention of something particularly dreadful.

He hoped he was wrong, but fate had other plans.

'Sir, there is an extremely powerful beast approaching the base. It will be here in a few minutes.' Titus cringed as the base's dedicated Fate user relayed the information to him.

'How strong is it?' He asked and received his answer a moment later.

'It's at the peak of the god rank.' Titus turned grim at this. He killed a few more creatures before asking again.

'Is it doable?' The person went silent for a few more seconds before replying again.

'It's not certain, it'll depend on your efforts more than anything else.' Hearing this, Titus sighed. Then he sent a mental message to Raya and Tristan.

'You guys need to wrap things up on your end. Things are about to get significantly harder very soon.' Roughly two seconds after he gave that order, two Auras surged and the rate at which stronger monsters died rose to a scary degree.

Titus wasn't idle either and he briefly stopped holding back and streaked across the battlefield to eliminate monsters, and periodically extremely sharp wind blades would fly out and kill some creatures.

The battle had entered a faint balance not long ago but in just a few moments, the tide had shifted in the favor of the Genesis Corps.

Tristan descended from the sky and landed with a large crash causing the ground to shatter at his feet. The dragon was covered in blood and none of it was his.

Raya also appeared next to Titus in a flash of lightning, her hand firmly on the hilt of her Katana waiting to draw it at any given moment.

"What's the issue boss?" Tristan asked with a surprisingly cheerful tone.

And the instant it asked, a horrifying Aura erupted in the distance and Titus pointed in its direction.

"That."
