Chapter 169 Embarrassment
Chapter 169 Embarrassment
Embarrassment
As Titus watched his plan come to fruition, he suddenly felt a presence behind him and turned, and who he saw caused his eyes to widen slightly.
"Aisha?" He asked, genuinely startled. Tristan and Raya also had varying reactions to seeing the Sect head for the Fate sect appear so suddenly.
Aisha had a scowl on her face as she walked towards Titus who became even more surprised, that's because he realized that it was her main body that was before him.
'Huh? But why?' He couldn't wrap his head around it. Though seeing as she was the leader of the people whose jobs entailed picking apart the future, he suddenly felt like something was wrong, enough for her to appear personally.
"What are you doing?" She demanded and Titus shifted his feet a little and looked down.@@@@
This caused Tristan and Raya to share a look. Since they pretty much became Titus' main subordinates, they tended to observe him a lot.
Of everything, they noted that he was someone who was virtuous and had great respect for his seniors. He was also hardworking and steadfast in his goals.
However, the way he was acting right now wasn't something they'd observed before. It was almost...
'Bashful...?'
The way he shifted from foot to foot and refused to meet Aisha's gaze, it was as though he was nervous.
Raya suddenly had a realization, while Tristan still seemed confused. Which wasn't odd, dragons were dense like that.
Under her stern gaze, Titus felt his previous confidence evaporate and he felt like he was standing in front of a fierce monster that could snap him in half at any moment. Well, he wouldn't describe it like that exactly, but something along those lines.
"Well, you and the others are working hard to figure out a way to resist the blizzard for us weaker people. So I thought that I should do what I could to discover a way to ease the burden on you guys, and I came up with this." Titus felt his nervousness ease up as he spoke.
He gestured to the dome that had almost completely fused with the dense life energy being released by the tree and continued.
"The fortress has a lot more features than most people think, I don't have access to all of them though. So I decided to get a bit creative with what I had and had my people come together to do this." He then gave an in-depth explanation of his plan and how he managed to pull it off.
The more he spoke, the brighter he became, he seemed genuinely happy for discovering a way to help like this. He couldn't compare himself to everyone in the cohort when it came to strength, but he was helping in his own way.
'Oh my... those behaviors, the scowling and quickly moving away. Is Mrs Aisha... a Tsundere? And Titus as well... he's the dense one... oh, oh this is VERY interesting.' Raya restrained a smile, but her hands behind her back rubbed against each other much like how a villain would rub his palms together.
On the other hand, Tristan was having different thoughts.
'Hm. Was she maybe dissatisfied by our performance?' Tristan didn't have eyebrows, not in his dragon form at least. If he did then they'd be furrowed at the moment.
'For her to come down personally. Maybe she expected something from us... and we didn't meet her expectations. But she decided to let us off because she has a close relationship with Titus.' It seemed like an outlandish theory, but he couldn't exactly be blamed for thinking this way.
Ever since the dragons agreed to Christopher's offer to join the Dimension, they had been doing their jobs as best they could.
They didn't serve anyone easily, but they would serve to the best of their ability whenever they did serve someone.
Christopher's subordinates were essentially his eyes and ears, and anything they did was to his satisfaction. So by serving them, they are by extension doing their best to serve Christopher. Well, that was Tristan's logic anyway.
That's why he was worried that they had messed something up or done what they did to an unsatisfactory level which prompted Aisha to come down using her main body. The idea of messing up bad enough to cause the person who pulled the strings, literally, to descend personally made him deeply uncomfortable.
As such, he said nothing and flew toward the center of the formation where the main things were happening. He would do his best to perfect it and meet the expectations of his superiors.
What he didn't know was that Aisha came over with her main body simply due to how flustered and embarrassed she was. The idea of sending a clone to come down didn't cross her mind as she just wanted to confront the source of her embarrassment as soon as possible.
As such, a series of strange but generally harmless misunderstandings had been created.
When Aisha returned to the Haven of the Enlightened, she directly went to her room which was on the floor beneath the top floor she used to conduct her duties and jumped into her bed and buried her head into her pillow before screaming.
She did this for a good few minutes before rolling on her back and dropping the pillow to reveal her beautiful flushed face.
'Ugh, why does he do this to me?' She grabbed the pillow again and hugged it to her chest. She'd been introduced to many suitors before and there was no shortage of handsome individuals.
Even on Edenveil, there were more than a few capable and handsome people that sought her hand. Yet none of them could make her heart palpitate like Titus, who seemed to be able to send her mind reeling just from a simple action.
"Dammit. Why him of all people?" She groaned and buried her head once more.
She hadn't once stopped manipulating fate throughout this entire ordeal.
