The next item was brought forward and everyone looked forward with interest.
It wasn't covered this time and was a glass ball that was about the size of a football.
It was smooth and seemed like it was made perfectly, however, that wasn't what drew attention. What did was the swirling mass of pink, purple and black in its center.
"This friends, is the Divination Sphere. As its name implies, it allows one to perform a certain degree of divination. Whether it's looking into the future by a small bit, finding the location of someone or something, or long distance communication. And the limit is simply the wielder's level and ability to make use of its power." The description was quite simple, but everyone was very surprised.
It was essentially the ultimate tool when it came to divination, and the level depended on the level of the one using it. Though it went without saying that using it on someone that was far stronger than the wielder would probably not work out very well.
Still, it was very sought after, and from what Christopher could see, two of the powerhouses in the hall started to glare at one another the moment the item was brought forth. It was between a group of females with fish like scales and hair resembling seaweed and a group of shark people.
"The starting price will be 500,000 Stellar Coins and one can bid a minimum of 50,000 each time." The price was already astronomical, but this was just the starting price.
"600,000!"
"700,000!"
"900,000!"
In just a few seconds, the price had broken through a million and was still rising rapidly.
Now that the really good items had begun to appear, the different groups began to drop their reservations and started to show what they were truly capable of wealth wise.
A few seconds later, the price had broken through 2,000,000 and finally, things started to slow down a little bit.
The two main competitors were the two races who seemed to be trying to outdo each other and it was clear they were the ones that had found the Divination Sphere and brought it here.
As such, they were the most active bidders for the item, and it slowly crawled to 3,000,000. It was about to rise a bit more, when suddenly.
"7,000,000." The Voice of the Elven Queen silenced everyone in the hall and. The two races looked at her in shock and she stared forward calmly, no hesitation in her gaze.
"7,000,000! Going once! Going Twice!" Sinestra said with a wide smile and the two races looked like they had eaten something disgusting. However, the price that had been called was beyond their ability. So despite the reluctance in their hearts...
Even though the ranks of Artifacts was the same as the ranks placed on sentient beings. Just like how it was almost impossible to find a powerful purple ranked person in the world unless you knew where to look, the same way finding a weapon of such a distinction was an incredible achievement.
In the first place, the people who could forge such artifacts were few and far between, and even then, those who could Forge such weapons rarely managed to get it on the first try. Not to mention that the materials needed to Forge them were exceedingly rare and valuable.
As such, those who could Forge such Artifacts were protected and highly regarded. And whenever they managed to succeed in crafting them, the artifact was closely guarded and definitely not put up for an Auction.
Christopher didn't know this, so he severely underestimated just how much of an uproar his artifact would cost. And boy did it cost a lot.
Christopher barely exhaled and the price had already broken through 12,000,000. And it was not slowing down at all. In fact, it was getting faster.
"20,000,000!"
"30,000,000!"
"35,000,000!" The bids kept getting higher and higher and Christopher's mind spun. It soon reached 50,000,000 and just like that, it had become ten times more expensive than the base price.
It was insane.
It was only after the price had reached 70,000,000 that things started to slow down, and the true powerhouses were the ones bidding now.
Christopher could see that the only people that had made no effort to bid were the dragons. He recalled that dragons didn't like using weapons since they believed it was beneath them and choosing to use a weapon was basically saying that their perfect, indestructible bodies weren't good enough.
And among those still bidding, the Emperor, the Elven Queen, the Vampires, and from what he could see, the Dwarves were still going at it.
It wasn't overly surprising as these groups were among the richest in the room. On the surface anyway.
Though from what he could tell, the bids the Queen were making were quite half-hearted, so he doubted she'd get it. The Vampires also seemed hesitant with each bid, leaving the Humans and the Dwarves competing the most.
There was desire within the Emperor's eyes while the Dwarves had heated gazes.
'The Emperor either intends to use it himself or give it to someone, probably his daughter. I recall her having a crystal attribute, so it would be fitting. As for the Dwarves, they are the most renowned when it comes to forging, so most likely, they want to experiment with the weapon and learn what they can from it.' Christopher mused.
He would be lying if he said he didn't feel a little bit proud seeing these top class races fighting so fervently over something he created. It was quite gratifying to say the least.
'And there are still way more things. I wonder how they will react.' He pondered as the bids finally started to slow down to a halt.
