Chapter 65 The Legend Sword
Chapter 65 The Legend Sword
The Legend Sword
Christopher walked into the depths of the Island at an unhurried pace. Behind his mask, his expression was one of contemplation.
'This Legend Sword is a lot more important than I'd previously thought. I knew it was important from the get go, after all, what sort of relic required those from the most powerful races to come to a mutual agreement to protect them? Still, it's crazy.' He thought to himself.
Pretty much what had happened was that, after Christopher had gotten the information from the Voidwalker and killed him, he spent some time unraveling the barrier that surrounded the entire Island so that he could teleport his people. And at the same time, he got information from the people there about the Legend Sword and its importance.
It went like this.
Years ago, there was an unbelievably powerful existential threat that appeared from outside their world. Not the Void, but something equally harrowing.
That was the first time that all the races had united together to fight against this threat, in fact, it was so bad that not only did the usually aloof Dragons appear, but even the aloof gods that hadn't appeared before or after that event showed themselves to help.
It was truly a mighty lineup, all the most powerful individuals and armies coming together to meet the threat. And yet they were still losing.
The losses were staggering and the gods who were seen as immortal fell like flies, talk less of the weaker armies.
The war lasted decades, and within that time frame, about half the world's population was wiped off the map.
The more time passed, the more the inhabitants of the world knew that they were fighting a losing battle. Something had to change, and fast.
And so a decision was made. And a weapon was created.
Even back then, the Dwarves were seen as the greatest craftsmen to have ever existed, and so the operation relied largely on their abilities.
Back then, due to the harrowing situation, the average power of beings was a lot higher than currently, so amazing Craftsmen were more common along with powerful equipment.
The most talented dwarven smiths along with those from the other races, and even the gods who excelled in craftsmanship all came together, and an absurd amount of resources were pooled together. Resources that those of the current are would cause wars over.
Yet all of them were merely a means to an end, and after nearly five years of hard work, the Sword had been crafted.
That was also the first and only true Divine rank weapon that had appeared throughout history. And it was said that the blade could destroy the world with ease.
After it had been created, the sword was then given to the one who was deemed the most worthy to wield it against the existential threat that caused so much death and destruction.
Surprisingly, it wasn't a Dragon or a god or even the Dwarves that had been the center of the entire operation. It was a human. The Human who was deemed as the most talented person in history.
It had only a singular use and purpose, and that was to shatter the Legend Sword. It was a one time use item, but it was guaranteed to work.

So during an especially harrowing showdown between the Legend Sword and the inhabitants of the world, one of the being in opposition managed to get close and pulled out a small, unassuming dagger.
The Legend Sword naturally had Samuel use itself to deflect the strike like all the other weapons from before. But that had been a costly mistake, as the instant the two blades made contact, the Legend Sword let out an ear piercing shriek that reverberated throughout the entire world.
And then the Legend Sword was shattered into several Shards while the Shatterthorn disintegrated as its purpose was fulfilled.
Samuel also died as the Legend Sword was filling him with its energy, and when it shattered, the energy was violently disrupted and it tore him from the inside, inevitably killing him.
After that, the various races came to an agreement and divided the Shards among themselves to keep as far from each other as possible.
And each race protected the Shards in their own ways for years. With the Humans coming up with the plan of continuously changing the location of the Shard they possessed, that's why Titus had been carrying a Shard with him before meeting Christopher.
Still, Christopher felt a little weird.
'I intend to eventually place the whole world into my Dimension, so would that make me public enemy number one?'He thought.
Granted, the way the Legend Sword went about its conquest was both bloody and very inefficient, which wasn't really its fault. But on the other hand, Christopher's Dimension made everything inside loyal to him as long as he was stronger than it before he placed it inside his dimension.
As long as he became the strongest, he could accomplish that goal without any bloodshed.
Then he laughed.
'Bruh, just a few months ago I was torn on whether or not I wanted to buy a TV. Now here I am thinking about taking over an entire world. Life do be like sometimes.' He chuckled before slowly coming to a stop.
I'm front of him, an old but robust man could be seen sitting in front of a small but well made table while sipping on a cup of tea.
"Take a seat young man." Sinestra said calmly and Christopher nodded slowly before taking the seat opposite him.
Christopher sat in silence for a while while Sinestra quietly drank his tea. And after he finished, he sighed and looked at Christopher. However, his usually boisterous and enthusiastic smile was replaced with a more nostalgic and wistful one.
"Well then young man, I take it that you are here for a reason. I've made a few guesses, but I want to hear it from you." He said calmly and Christopher nodded.
"Indeed." He stared at Sinestra before saying carefully.
"I've come to ask for your allegiance."
