with her belongings, jounouchi hiromi dashed out of the surgical office and ran directly to chen yu's office. she burst through the door without knocking, startling shirai reina, the secretary in the small cubicle, "doctor jounouchi? what... what's the matter?"

"is mr. chen yu in?" jounouchi hiromi, slightly out of breath from running, asked shirai reina without apologizing for her abruptness. not having run for years, the sudden sprint left jounouchi hiromi gasping, and she lost the youthful vigor she once had when she ran with her female classmates across half the school.

"professor chen is in the other room," said shirai reina, mistaking jounouchi hiromi's panting for urgency. she nodded quickly.

upon hearing that, jounouchi hiromi gave a nod of thanks to shirai reina and then pushed open the inner door, barging into chen yu's office. she locked the door behind her, causing shirai reina on the outside to be startled and curious about jounouchi hiromi's rush to see chen yu.

but as a clever secretary, shirai reina did not inquire further. she simply stood up, closed the office door, and quietly resumed her work.
