Chapter 76 An Hallucination?
Chapter 76 An Hallucination?
The dark Ryuk, whose simple force of grabbing Ryuk's shoulder had been enough to crack open a black hole into the depths of space, was now lodged into the wall.
Blood rained down the side of his scaled, dark face, and standing before Ryuk was now the Blue Ryuk, whose right hand was still held in the air in a motion resembling one swatting away a fly.
Did Ryuk need to be told who had done that?
Somehow, he found it hard to believe.
He had not seen at all what had happened—any motion of it at all. It was as if he had been paused in time, missing the collision and only opening his eyes to see the end result.
Slowly, the blue-scaled Ryuk crouched to the ground, his eyes fixed on Ryuk's, most especially Ryuk's left blue eye.
Only now did Ryuk notice.
Somehow, his left blue eye looked no different from the eye right before him, and the same could be said for his crimson eye, which seemed no different from the eye of the dark-scaled Ryuk.
It was...It was as if he himself was a mixture of@@@@
"Ahhh," a mist of air escaped the ice-scaled Blue Ryuk's lips as he slowly shifted his gaze away from Ryuk's blue eye. Then, he rose unnervingly before turning his back on Ryuk.
In the next instant, Ryuk found him sitting on a throne.
Once more, it was as if time had absolutely stopped, and Ryuk had somehow missed the motion of his walk again.
"As much as I hate to believe it, you truly have the same royal blood running within me. And the same accursed blood of that bastard running through you at the same time..."
"How ridiculing of our royal blood..." The blue scaled lamented.
Ryuk found it incomprehensible to understand, yet he couldn't help but feel like he was about to grasp something that would forever change his life.
"Tell me, who are you?" Ryuk asked, his voice ringing through the silence of the throne room as the blue-scaled Ryuk slowly settled back into his chair, reclining deeply before closing his eyes.
"This meeting between us, young one—it is one that has been forced."
"It isn't time for us to meet yet. You're still too weak. Too weak."
"Leave!" the blue-scaled Ryuk said in a deep tone, and like a primordial law, Ryuk watched as the space around him cracked up.
[Perhaps Host might have suffered a minor wound to the head during the previous battle, or maybe a side effect of being in this place is faint hallucinations?]
The system replied, and slowly Ryuk's eyes dulled.
'I was the only one who saw that. The system can't see it...' he realized and threw the scene to the back of his mind.
Right now, there was an even more important task!
He had successfully arrived at the end of the labyrinth, which meant he had passed the test.
Now was his time to reap the benefits of passing the test.
And no, it wasn't the system quest, it was the Fallen Pool itself.
Immediately, Ryuk sped forward, feeling his body move even though there was nothing but the vast emptiness of space benath him.
In no time, he reached the falling waterfall of energy.
Instantly, the system's notification flashed:
[Congratulations, Host has arrived before an incredibly powerful source of energy, containing a very concentrated amount of Source Energy.]
[Host can proceed to enter the pool and begin the process of drawing in Source Energy to fuel Host's body.]
The system announced, and just as Ryuk had guessed, there was a large amount of Source Energy within the Fallen Pool.
Immediately, he stepped into the pool, submerging himself and soon dipping deeper into its surface.
[Commencement of Source Energy absorption will now begin.]
[Host be warned of monumental pain during the potential evolution of Host's nanobody.]
"Evolution?" Ryuk asked as his shut eyes instantly snapped open in the next instant.
[Process will now commence...]
"Arrggh!"
