Chapter 534 Ring Of Primary Laws
Chapter 534 Ring Of Primary Laws
"Treasures? Sure, I'll take those too." William nodded with a satisfied smile. Things were going so well today; he didn't want it to end.
The Vice Principal held his palm out as if he was a road guard stopping traffic. "I didn't say that—"
"It's very kind of you, sir, to help me out so much. I've never been treated so well." Not at least since my Master Ascended...
Kenny sighed and gave up, "Alright, fine, you can have this." he snapped his fingers and a small red ring appeared. The shank was made from Starmetal and inscribed with Arrays, and the center was a small red crystal which seemed to be downsized from a much larger crystal with the Space Element.
Instantly, the room's ambient temperature rose several times and William's skin tingled. His Stealth Talent struggled to suppress William's Mana, several hundred thousand leaking out from his pores despite William's best efforts.
In response to the special Artifact, William realized that his Fire Mana was reacting excitedly. Its emotions rose much like during the Chaos and Order upgrades, allowing William to barely sense what it was feeling.
It's mine! I want it! The Fire Element seemed to say. At least, that's how William interpreted its emotions. As a Common Element, whatever was in front of William must be a powerful treasure.
When Kenny set the ring on the table, William's instincts told him to snatch it up before anyone else did. If he didn't grab it now, someone else might get to it first, he felt.
"What is it?" he asked while suppressing his desire to snatch the Artifact.
Kenny couldn't help but look at William strangely with that question. "This is one of the most popular items in the Slightveil Plane, how do you not know about it?"
William shook his head, "I really don't know. I've been here for only a few weeks."
Kenny nodded in understanding. "This is a Ring of Primary Laws. It was developed by the Slightwing Family several thousand years ago, and has the ability to store Mana of its specified Element to cast Primary Laws."
He continued, "The best advantage of this Ring, however, is that one doesn't actually need to have comprehended the Fire Affinity to use the Ring. They don't even need the Fire Element to use it! Of course, the Ring will shatter if you use it too many times in a short period.
These are usually given to Cultivators that already have a profound understanding of the Fire Element, since the Ring won't break if the owner already understand the Primary Law of Fire."
William listened to Kenny in awe. The Ring of Primary Laws was just like those orbs that Yuhe Slightwing was using in the Quake Dungeon! If he had this, William wouldn't need to hide his Fire Element!
William knew the purpose of this gift was to help William clear the Quake Dungeon, but he didn't have the heart to tell Kenny that he didn't plan on using the Fire Element within the Quake Dungeon. It wouldn't progress his System Quest, after all.
"Heh. I'm pretty weak right now," William started, "so why risk my life when I can scout in safety?"
Tenningbrew gasped in surprise. "I used to think you were a little... special, but it seems you are capable of scheming..."
He thought for a moment before continuing. "Your plan is to scout the floors with a large group now, then come back by yourself and kill the easy enemies on the higher floors by yourself, right? If this was in class, I might've given you a Tenningbuck!"
"Gerald, you're still doing that Tenningbuck nonsense? I thought I told you to give it up. You're embarrassing the prestigious nature of our school. That's a tactic for children, not future powerhouses." Kenny reprimanded.
"It works though! Classroom participation has risen fifty percent since I introduced the Tenningbuck system! Here's all the data!" Tenningbrew used the Summoning Element to call a white ferret to his side.
He patted in its back in a unique pattern, causing the ferret to cough several times before puking up a dozen scrolls. Tenningbrew picked up one of the scrolls and unraveled it, revealing several charts that made little sense to William.
He pointed to a certain part of the graph, "See! Fifty-six percent improvement compared to last year's first week!"
Kenny wrinkled his nose and pushed away the chart, "Gross, get that out of here."
"Not until you admit that it works!"
"Is this torture or blackmail? I can't tell, just get it out of here!"
"So, you admit it, right?"
"Okay, yes, fine. Tenningbrew, get that out of here, it smells like salt and vinegar had a baby with an oak tree!"
William wanted to laugh at the situation, but the smell overwhelmed him to the point where he didn't dare open his mouth. Unfortunately, the System didn't seem to possess any Talents that would resist foul smells, hence leaving William completely unprotected. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
Tenningbrew rolled up the scrolls once more and stuffed them down the ferret's throat once more, unsummoning the creature moments later.
When William finally stopped holding his breath, he asked, "Isn't it cruel to do that to your ferrets, Professor?"
Tenningbrew shook his head, "That one isn't your typical white ferret. That's my Contract Ferret, which stores all my documents for me within its throat. He doesn't eat or drink, and feeds on my Mana in exchange for storing items for me. It's a mutual agreement that he and I made many years ago.
Do you have the Summoning Element as well? Your Mythical Rat Snake is very cute."
