Infinite Potential System

Chapter 550 Fake Sun?

Chapter 550 Fake Sun?

The unexpected development of a Solar System filled William with joy. It seemed that comprehending his Elements had yet another bonus that would only appear after the Elements reached Ascended C-Rank.

The more William comprehended an Elemental Affinity, the more control he had over its Magic. When the comprehension reaches one hundred percent, William gains access to the Element's Primary Law, Definition as Law.

After this point, turning his intent into a simple phrase allowed William to use Laws that were nearly invincible unless they were countered by another Law. To deal with a Law using normal Magic... it would require too many resources.

After the Primary Laws came Secondary Laws, which were still a mystery to William. He could only speculate.

But it turns out that there was something in between Primary and Secondary Laws! The Solar System! And its development came with a wave of one hundred and fifty Ascended Points!

Comprehension is too good! William watched the three Worlds adapt to their new Sun, which acted as both a source of light and Mana.

The best part is, William didn't need to feed his Mana to the Worlds anymore! The Fire Source was tapped directly into William's Mana Reserve, so it could simply take his Mana and expel it towards the three automatically. There was no need for him to get directly involved.

The Fire Source even passively produced some Mana of its own, though William didn't understand how that worked.

The existence of a Sun raised some questions in William's mind. Most importantly, how did the Worlds have a day and night cycle before? Where was these Worlds' original sun and moon?

He decided to spread out his perception and check. He scanned the surface of Efretta first, then turned on Mana Mode to track the rays of sunlight that contained hints of Mana. He traced one of the rays up into the atmosphere, towards another Sun that wasn't part of William's Solar System.

About halfway between Efretta and the second Sun, William's senses suddenly lost track of the trace of Mana. In front of his consciousness, a shimmering wall appeared that prevented him from moving forward, but not because of its defensive strength.

It was an illusion! The Illusion Element had recreated a version of the Sun, and probably the moon too, that simulated a day and night cycle! William moved on to check Reius, and the situation was the same!

Only Sunrise didn't have any sort of simulated environment, meaning someone had manually set up the illusion beforehand. If he had to guess, Efretta had set up Reius' illusion, and either she or the Heavens had established the one on the World sharing Efretta's name.

Well, I don't have a moon, but these guys don't need two Suns. William thought as he manipulated both illusions to remove the Sun.

Next, he reoriented the positions of the two Worlds and adjusted the rate at which they rotated so both would have an appropriate amount of daytime. He noticed several other illusions and even the existence of artificial seasons, but he left those in place for the time being.

The lives of billions were at stake, and William couldn't carelessly treat Reius and Efretta like they were some sort of sandbox. His Humanity Statistic would need to be much lower before he reached that point.

"Snap!"

Su Mian snapped his fingers together, causing a thick barrier to envelop both him and the messenger. He crossed his arms in front of him, "No one can eavesdrop. Now... read it to me."

"Ahh... It says..." the messenger carefully unsealed the message and started reading. "Su Mian, you have done well to infiltrate the Slightveil Family's territory unnoticed, but the situation is growing increasingly dangerous and I ask that you be cauti—"

"Are you fucking kidding me? He sends me a letter asking me to be careful?" Su Mian threw his hands in the air. "Keep going."

The messenger wasn't surprised at Su Mian's attitude, which was blatantly disrespecting the Family Head. Among the younger generation, though, Su Mian was the only one qualified to act in this manner.

He kept reading, "I ask that you be—"

"Skip that part. I don't want to hear his stupid worries."

"Ah, yes Senior. I've sent another team to meet up with you, and I want you to take a few days out of your schedule to join them. It will be good experience. I've listed the details below."

Su Mian almost exploded with anger, "A babysitting mission? What about the five thousand babies I'm already dealing with?"

"I assume he wants us to stay here while you're gone, Senior."

"Did I ask for your opinion? Also, that's dumb. Tell me, what are the details that make this worth my time?"

"An assassination target. His name is William, and he's in his early twenties. Ascension Realm Cultivator."

"Pfft!" Su Mian was so angry he wanted to laugh. "Is he sending a group of teenagers after him? This is a joke! I thought the Family Head acknowledged my strength, but he's actually giving me chores."

"It says his combat strength might be approaching the Deity Realm."

Su Mian paused for a moment, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly. He disabled the barrier surrounding him and the messenger, then swiped the letter into a Space Ring.

"Send a letter back to the Family Head. Tell him he better not be wasting my time."

The messenger's eyes flashed with fear. Like hell I would match your words to my handwriting!
