The police investigation ended past 3 a.m. The officers replayed the audio recording on Junyoung’s phone multiple times along with her statement. She hadn’t known it, but they had already been paying close attention to the connection between the recent string of falls in the area.

“For now, we’ll wrap things up here. There may be additional investigations, so don’t go anywhere for the time being.”

“Alright.”

Junyoung shrugged at the detective’s skeptical gaze.

“That’s just how I talk. That’s why I clashed with Choi Yeongbok the first time we met.”

The detective sighed and shook his head.

“And in a situation like that, you should’ve called 112 instead of your boyfriend.”
