Chapter 24: The Divine Messenger Arrives
Chapter 24: The Divine Messenger Arrives
Two days later, the two disc-shaped objects that had fallen towards the sun were far away from the star Asclepius. Having shed their camouflage and concealment, they revealed themselves as flying saucers. After transmitting a secret message over a long distance, the two saucers sped towards the Earth Federation fleet at near the speed of light. At a distance of 0.48 light-years from Asclepius, the moon and the human fleet were rapidly approaching this star system.
After the five-day military parade concluded, the silvery-white ring near the sun was secretly transported back to the Tiancan military base, where various studies began.
Yaso summoned Rick and all the ministers to the Golden Hall to discuss state affairs.
"My wise ministers, I have summoned you here today to discuss a very important matter. Thor, the great god we revere, has been using us all along." Yasuo's words were startling, leaving some ministers bewildered.
Yasuo waved his hand, and four paintings appeared on the big screen, along with the huge circular object in the sky and two silver-white disc-shaped flying objects.
"Gentlemen, the oracle commanded us to form an expeditionary force. However, the miracle left by the divine messenger was not like before, imparting technological knowledge such as warships or navigation power. Instead, it was a blatant warning. If we do not obey the oracle, this circular object will be the passage through which the army of the gods will come to destroy us! Fortunately, we stopped the army from entering three days ago and have now sealed this portal." Yasuo displayed an expression of relief.
The ministers were initially shocked, then erupted in cheers.
"We are ramping up the production of warships and brand-new robots. Given our severe shortage of able-bodied men, I plan to deploy these new multi-functional robots to all warships and related positions to replenish our manpower and resources. In just over a month, we will have produced 3600 million robots. By then, we will be even more powerful!" Yasuo's voice resounded throughout the hall, radiating an air of unwavering ambition and self-assurance.
"Your Majesty, how can we prevent these robots from rebelling?" an old minister asked.
"Morch, rest assured, the robots have a security protocol at the lowest level that is in our favor. Only we can control them, not the other way around."
"Your Majesty is wise and powerful!"
"Your Majesty is wise and mighty!" the other ministers shouted in unison.
"My wise ministers, follow me, and I will show you what a robot army is all about."
Yasuo and his ministers walked out of the palace and arrived at the Royal Square. At that time, there were about 100,000 silver-white robots that filled the square, densely packed in a square formation, each robot holding a laser gun.
"Ready, go!"
With a shout from the commander, the robot army marched in perfect unison across the square like a tidal wave. The sound of their feet hitting the ground was indistinguishable, as if they were moving as one person. However, the thunderous roar and imposing formation left a deep impression, causing some timid civil officials to tremble. Yasuo and some ministers, on the other hand, smiled and excitedly stroked their beards and nodded.
"Stop!" the commander shouted again, and the 100,000 moving robots stopped abruptly as if the power had been cut off. Many people breathed a sigh of relief.
A successful robot army exercise. Yaso's prestige soared, and every household removed their portraits of Thor, retaining only Yaso's majestic and divine image, enlarging the original portraits to be even larger than the original Thor images. The image of the god, which had stood for millennia, collapsed and vanished among the mortal masses.
Zhou Yuan watched all this with a mixture of joy and anxiety. He was anxious about how Earth's humans would deal with the divine messenger when it appeared, and whether they would help him realize the ideas and plans he had sent through long-distance communication.
Time passed, but Zhou Yuan and his colleagues continued their work and plans.
Zhou Yuan and a group of Celestial Scientists are secretly studying the circular ring-shaped object, which appears to be a portal capable of intergalactic teleportation.
"Commander-in-Chief, it will take another year and two months to reach the five stars of the Celestial Triad," the artificial intelligence reported.
Zhang Xiaoyu snapped out of his reverie. Ten months had passed since he last saw Zhou Yuan and the others. He was relieved to have received several long-distance communications from them, learning about the various situations of the Celestial Beings, and of course, the divine envoy and the silver-white super warship. From Zhou Yuan's information, the divine envoy warship seemed to possess considerable power, and even with the Celestial Beings' advanced technology, they were still under the command of the Thor gods. From this perspective, the Thor gods were not to be underestimated. Fortunately, nothing unexpected had happened here. Three months prior, the Dean of Civilization had dispatched a group of scientists, escorted by a fleet of over 100 cruise motherships, to Sirius, 245 light-years away (at the speed of light). On the moon, Gaia was still piloting, while Aya continued to handle the complex tasks of managing the space city and various warships.
Suddenly, alarms blared: "Warning! Warning! Massive object detected 100 billion kilometers ahead, traveling at nearly four times the speed of light!"
Zhang Xiaoyu's heart skipped a beat. Divine messenger, you've finally arrived.
"Deploy a fleet of 100 cruiser carriers, keep a slight distance between them, and don't get too close."
138 minutes later, the telescope spotted a small dot ahead. This dot rapidly grew larger and then slowly grew larger again, stopping 1 kilometers away from the Earth interception fleet. Facing the layers upon layers of Earth's human warships, the divine envoy's warship was like a small boat.
"Activate life scanning beam to scan enemy fleet creatures."
"Activate wideband spectral imaging to scan the enemy fleet's shields."
"Activate over-the-horizon thermal imaging to scan the enemy fleet's navigation dynamics."
The artificial intelligence of each cruise mothership performs feature scanning on the divine messenger warships according to a preset program.
"Bio-scan results: No life; Shield scan results: High-intensity energy flow; Navigation power scan results: A crystal-like object."
The divine envoy warship remained motionless and silent. Zhang Xiaoyu trembled violently, a sense of fear washing over him. He recalled the first battle between the Earth fleet and the lunar UFO.
"Martians, I am the messenger of the Thor gods." Suddenly, all the warships received a voice that sounded like a synthesized machine. "I know you are heading towards Tian Shen V. Please note: First, the Thor gods are the guardians of the Tian Shen civilization, and we will not stand idly by. Second, the war at the speed of light has begun. I suggest you join the alliance to fight the enemy together. Therefore, I suggest you and the Tian Shen people put aside your past grievances, sign a peace treaty, and jointly form an expeditionary force."
In fact, Zhang Xiaoyu and some others already knew this information through the encrypted long-range communication sent by Zhou Yuan. Zhang Xiaoyu thought that the most important thing right now was to successfully complete this crucial part of Zhou Yuan's plan.
“Your Excellency, what if we don’t agree?” Zhang Xiaoyu gave a strong response.
"Is that so? Then take a look." The divine envoy snorted a few times, and then a beam of strong light shone on an assault ship at the front of the human interception fleet. To everyone's surprise, the assault ship suddenly disappeared into thin air, and no one knew where it went. There was no flash, no explosion, no call, and no response.
No trace of it has been detected by various gravitational wave, broadband spectral, and electromagnetic wave radars.
"First, second, and third cruiser carrier groups, open fire freely. Other fleets, disperse and surround the enemy ships." More than 40,000 warships surrounded the Divine Envoy warship in three-dimensional space. All kinds of missiles, particle lasers, electromagnetic cannon shells, gravity bombs, and light spheres were poured towards the Divine Envoy warship. The massive hull of the Divine Envoy warship remained motionless. Suddenly, circles of white light emanated from the hull. A few seconds later, the Divine Envoy warship disappeared. Even more astonishingly, all kinds of kinetic missiles, high-energy lasers, electromagnetic cannon shells, gravity bombs, and light spheres fired at the Divine Envoy warship by the intercepting fleet also disappeared, as if falling into a bottomless abyss without any ripples.
Everyone seemed to hold their breath, unable to breathe, staring blankly at the black screen, as if it were even more terrifying than their first encounter with Gaia.
"Ignorant Martians, do you submit?" Suddenly, that synthesized mechanical voice rang out again, and the divine messenger warship reappeared, flashing white light, in the place where it had disappeared.
"Your Excellency, this matter is of great importance, and we need time to discuss it collectively," Zhang Xiaoyu said helplessly.
"Okay, I'll give you three days."
Space City 1, Office of the President of the Federal Academy of Sciences of Earth.
“Dean Wen, General Chu, Dean Zhou’s plan is indeed ingenious, but the most crucial part of the plan is precisely the part that we are currently facing the greatest difficulty. How could we possibly trap that divine envoy warship? Let alone seize it for ourselves. That warship is simply a monstrous existence.” Zhang Xiaoyu got straight to the point.
"If we use the lunar fortress, what are our chances of winning?" General Chu Yan asked hesitantly.
"Judging from the performance of the Divine Envoy Warship, I think it's highly unlikely. I even suspect that the Divine Envoy Warship could transform our moon! Even if the lunar fortress has some advantages, the Divine Envoy Warship can travel at almost the speed of light in this plane of space. This is a speed advantage. The moon would probably only be able to be chased and attacked by it." Civilization, after all, is a scientist, and it analyzed the situation theoretically. "Based on the information from Dean Zhou's previous long-distance communication, I can guess that this Divine Envoy Warship is itself a kind of portal. It can freely teleport things to other places, which is indeed terrifying."
"Is there really no other way?"
"A solution? If Dean Zhou were here, what would he do? Dean Zhou, what would you do?" Wenming muttered to himself, "I've got it! Put us in a do-or-die situation!"
"What?" Zhang Xiaoyu and Chu Yan asked in unison.
"Commander Zhang, General Chu, I will draft a plan immediately and send it to you via secret message. Please act according to the plan."
"Okay." The two were curious, but it wasn't convenient to ask directly.
