Chapter 143 Her POV
Chapter 143 Her POV
Her POV
Prism watched from one of the many reflections as Christopher once more continued to jog forward to the center of the hidden realm.
A good thing about this place, at least for her, was that the white snow constantly reflected the light produced by the sun, or whatever it was that provided the realm with light. As such, they technically were reflections, which allowed her to move freely.
Prism's ability is quite miraculous, and with the enhancements granted to her by the Dimension, they've only gotten stronger.
As a being born of the mirror Dimension, her natural Affinity to reflections and light is incredible, and among the many things she can do, traveling through reflections was a small part of her wide range of abilities.
She could physically enter a reflection and observe the outside world from within the reflection, and as long as there were reflections for her to use, she could traverse any distance with ease while remaining undetected.
That also tied in with another aspect of her ability. Whenever someone stepped near a reflective surface and had a reflection, Prism could interact with this reflection, and using her abilities, she could turn this reflection into a capable helper.
It would have the strength and skills of the original, the only difference being the lack of a soul. But they were perfectly loyal. As long as she managed to subdue them.
Prism had to be able to suppress a reflection if she wanted to control it. That's why she never tried to weaponize Christopher's reflections of him whenever the cohort sparred, as fighting his reflection was no different from fighting him.
But she could make reflections herself. But the issue of Christopher being too strong still applied, and at most, she could only create a cheap copy with significantly fewer abilities.
But that didn't perturb her. He was her master, and she wouldn't want to be able to overpower him anyway.@@@@
If there was one thing Prism liked about her ability, it was that she could ogle Christopher without shame or worry of being called out.
That's right, ogle him.
The aesthetics of humans and Mirrorspawn weren't overly different from each other since both were humanoids with two genders, so he was very handsome by their standards from the get-go.
Moreover, Christopher had transcended, elevating his attractiveness to a point that other races found him desirable, not just humanoids.
That's why Prism felt no shame whatsoever when it came to ogling him. After all, good things are meant to be appreciated.
However, there was the issue of his mask, but it wasn't an issue for her. Christopher somehow made his reflection recognize her as an ally, meaning she could interact with it the same way she could interact with weaker reflections. Though it wasn't perfect, it was enough.
Prism barely spoke two sentences during the entire ordeal, but she found it enjoyable and even looked forward to the next time such a gathering would be arranged. That was why she felt excitement when Belladonna said she'd do it again when the whole issue with the hidden realm was settled.
Other than that, though, Prism noticed that she felt a certain way about Christopher.
She watched his calm expression as he jogged and couldn't help but find her hand slowly moving to caress his cheek. But she paused at the last moment and quickly covered her face, and an adorable whine of embarrassment left her lips.
Slowly, she pulled her hands down, and her entire face was red, though her expression was still neutral.
'I think I like master...' The thought made her heart thump, but she couldn't remove the feeling no matter how hard she tried. So she just accepted it.
However, accepting that she felt that way and acting out on those feelings are two completely different things.
If there was one thing she learned throughout her life, it was that most of the time, one's feelings were insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
For starters, she'd been informed that her master seemed to have his heart with someone else, which made her feel like someone was squeezing her heart whenever she thought about it. But it also made sense.
She believed that Christopher was with someone far more capable and powerful than her, but they had been separated for certain reasons. Still, it wasn't surprising to her, as hurtful as it was.
Then there was the fact that... well, the competition for Christopher was fierce in the Primordial Expanse.
Though no one said it, at least not openly (besides Belladonna), the line of women who wanted Christopher, both weak and powerful, was long.
Even Lihanna, the proud Dragon Queen, could be seen looking at Christopher with a predatory gaze when he wasn't looking.
The aforementioned women who gathered together in the hot spring were merely a small number of the long line of beautiful women who were willing to throw themselves at Christopher to moment an opportunity arose, and Prism couldn't help but feel intimidated by such a long queue. Ordinarily, she shouldn't have anything to fear. After all, the only people who could compare with her, whether in strength or beauty, would be the members of the cohort, and all the girls were accounted for.
Kim was clearly interested in Silver and vice versa, Chiara is a child, which really only left Belladonna and Eidrasil. Though she considered Sylvaris to be a worthy adversary as well considering that she and Christopher spent a decent amount of time with each other as well, and her beauty was nothing to scoff at either.
But despite that being the case, she still felt intimidated. Mostly because she had little self-confidence.
But even then, she was willing to try.
