Chapter 16: True Colours

Haoyu and Jace took less than twenty minutes to return to the Fox Manor, the banquet was still ongoing and everyone was having a good time. Jace also chose to let loose and enjoy the moment so he did what any person trying to let loose would do, start drinking. Jace gulped down cup after cup of chinese wine, very sweet and alcoholic.

Jace surprisingly also enjoyed the music that was playing, a family member was playing the guqin beautifully while also singing with her melodious voice that one enjoyed listening to. Haoyu just sat quietly on a corner and closed his eyes.

An hour and a half later, Jace was completely wasted and could barely even speak coherent words. Drunk with him was Jun Hie and a few other youngsters of similar age to Jun Hie.

Everyone was having a good time when suddenly everyone's expression changed from being drunk and having fun to being sober and serious. Haoyu who had his eyes closed this entire time opened them and then disappeared from his corner. Jace felt the change in atmospheres and used his Ability to get rid of the alcohol in his system and immensely became sober.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A few minutes earlier, Faceless who'd just regained his strength not long ago reached this place after following Jace's directions but didn't expect that the place he came to would be where his enemies lived.

‘Damn Fox Clan, dare to seal me for thousands of years then you throw a banquet. Today, I shall eliminate all Fox Clansmen, be it the young or the old, the weak or the strong, I shall eradicate you all.’ said Faceless inwardly as he released terrifying Killing Intent.

Seconds after he released his Killing Intent, Haoyu came out of the manor with a calm but sharp gaze.

“What are you trying to do?” asked Haoyu.

“Kill the Fox Clan, boy, I suggest you stay out of this before you get hurt. A Nascent Soul Realm like you isn't a match for me.” answered Faceless.

“I'm afraid I can't do that, master is inside the manor.”

“Since you want to interfere in my business, die!” shouted Faceless as he moved through the shadows and appeared behind Haoyu while holding two black daggers. He planned on stabbing Haoyu's head and deal with him quickly but unfortunately it wouldn't be so easy.

A small ice shield appeared behind Haoyu's head and blocked the sneak attack. Haoyu then turned around and blew cold breath at Faceless.

Jace then walked over to the squirming servants and stepped on their dirt covered faces.

[If you ever disobey my orders again. It won't end with just experiencing pain, I'll also be taking your lives. Remember, I'm the one who gave you lives and since I can give, naturally, I can also take back what I gave you. I'm the master and you're the servants, never forget your identities!] said Jace coldly as he cancelled the pain function.

Haoyu was completely drenched in sweat as he breathed heavily, he almost shat himself from the pain. Faceless on the other hand showed nothing out of place because of his clothes but his hands covered in gloves kept shaking uncontrollably.

“It's... not... fair... I... was only... trying to... help. I didn't... deserve... to... be... punished...” said Haoyu with a wronged look.

[Nothing is fair, even life isn't fair. Some people are born blind while others are born with the ability to see. Some are born without limbs, some can't walk, some can't hear and some can't speak. There are those born with talent while others are born talentless. Do you think I give a shit about fairness when the world isn't fair?! You said it yourself, in this world, the strong prey on the weak so why are you now complaining?] said Jace coldly.

It was then that Haoyu realised that the easy going and carefree Jace wasn't as easy going or as carefree as he seemed. An evil person hid underneath the facade Jace showed.

“I want you to explain what ‘this’ fuss was all about. You'll find me in the dining hall.” said Jace as he walked away. Everyone watched as Jace walked away with Scarlet hugging his arm.

“Wasn't Jace drinking with us and completely drunk a while ago, why is he now completely sober?” asked a family member that was drinking with Jace.

“Don't ask about what you shouldn't, let's go back inside the manor.” said one of the ancestors.

Thirty minutes had passed and currently, everyone was seated at a huge hall that accommodated everyone in the Fox Clan. Faceless was the only person who remained standing.

“The reason for my Killing Intent is because the Fox Clan destroyed my body and trapped me in that forest for thousands of years. I only wanted to get revenge for what they did to me.” explained Faceless.

“Impossible! We don't even know who you are so how could we destroy your body and trap you?!” said one of the ancestors.

“The person who trapped me is definitely from the Fox Clan, he even told me his name, what was it again... oh yes, his name was... Fox Muyang!”

“IMPOSSIBLE!!!”
