Primitive Man

Chapter 147: Turning point II - Find Telvi

Chapter 147: Turning point II - Find Telvi

Amel's faction started to run out of arrows as they waited for Kali's message. Moga also began to uproot the trees to which he was tied, one by one. Their new leader, Amel, grew rather frustrated that the message he was waiting for didn't come.

"Amel, let's attack now. If Moga started to go crazy all our plans would go down the drain. more than half our army will be useless if they don't have arrows." One of Amel's closest men muttered showing there were indeed few people that had the brains in Amel's faction.

"..."

But Amel didn't know what to do. What was happening inside the village? Did Kali get captured by Baktou and his warriors or did something else happen to her? There were a lot of questions in Amel's mind.

'System, what should I do?'

Unable to make his own decision, Amel decided to turn to his only source of information. It was almost like a silver lining in the sky to him, as he knew that of all the things around him, the system was the only thing that wouldn't betray him, at least for now.

[Initiate the attack. We don't really know what happened in the village, but with Moga's power we could definitely overpower these people, after all only challenge in this village is Baktou, who should be much weaker than Garnt.]

Amel nodded his head and agreed with her sentiment. He didn't want to wait for his advisor anymore, especially when Garnt wasn't even there, which was the main trouble for him.

"Get ready. On my count, you will unleash Moga, and we will follow him."

Amel took one final look at Moga and quickly started his count. "3...2...1...Move forward,"

As soon as the count ended, all the ropes that tied Moga got cut and the beast was unleashed to go and wreak havoc on the unsuspecting enemies.

"Now Baktou, get ready to die because, without you, I could easily fight Garnt without worrying about my back."

While these things were happening outside the village, Baktou and Garnt kept looking for Telvi, who went missing. The amount of arrows and the range of the attack also got rather reduced showing they have indeed given up to some extent.

"Was this supposed to be a warning for us? Why aren't they attacking even after breaking our ballistic? We have already repaired one of the ballistas." Baktou was confused, but he had a bad feeling in his bones. "Also where did Telvi sneak? She should have told me where she is going?"

"Baktou, we need to stop this! It's the drug! I warned you about it! This will only make him act more wild. We need to give him a proper death strike." Garnt exclaimed, but Baktou's expression remained stern. He was rather overconfident about his own village, that he underestimated Garnt's knowledge about the drug.

"We can't afford to let him break through. Pour more!" Baktou commanded, and the men hesitated for a moment before complying. They continued to douse Moga with molten iron, intensifying his suffering. "Brother, don't worry. You will see. Soon Moga will be nothing more than a dead man because I can confirm. No living being can survive this attack."

Garnt sighed letting Baktou handle it because he wanted to make sure, he was ready if something unexpected happened, so he asked for a blow and loaded an iron arrow aiming at Moga's head hoping it would pierce him.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn as a horde of men charged from the forest, their faces twisted with rage. Garnt's eyes widened in alarm. "Baktou, we've got company! Defend the village! Ask your ballista users to put the working one to use."

Baktou swiftly assessed the threat and issued orders to the ballista users. "Focus on the incoming attackers! Protect the village at all costs!"

The air resonated with the twang of bowstrings as the ballista bolts sailed through the air, finding their targets among the charging men. Chaos erupted as the attackers fell, but more surged forward. Garnt, fueled by a mix of desperation and determination, joined the defence.

He released the arrows that he had drawn, hoping they would fully pierce Moga's head. Unfortunately, they only managed to enter slightly into his neck, revealing the strength of his skin.

"Eva, is it possible for your drug to enhance the skin as well?" Garnt questioned because he had initially thought it was just a performance-enhancing tool.

[I don't really know. When we were experimenting, we always used bull DNA, but it might be possible that whoever possessed the syringes was using the DNA of primitive animals. For Moga who is a strong man to go this crazy, it might have been a rather dangerous animal.]

Garnt sighed upon hearing her answer, quickly realizing that the battle was unfolding advantageously on their end, except for Moga. The charging enemies were obliterated by a single ballista, revealing their unpreparedness for such attacks. In the distance, Garnt noticed another familiar face.

"Is that Amel? It looks like both of them are here," he thought. While he wanted Rona to be present for her revenge, he knew letting Amel escape was out of the question. "I should try to capture him alive as much as I can. He should die in front of Rona."

Meanwhile, Amel was on the verge of tears, witnessing his carefully built army being obliterated by enormous arrows that he had no idea existed.

"What are these? Where did these things come from? How did I not know about them? Kali, why didn't you report about these things to me?" He questioned his currently absent advisor, who was supposed to provide him with information. He began to realize that he might have been deceived once again by a woman.

"Damn it! All women are snakes. I shouldn't have believed a woman in the first place. Damn it!" Shouting in anger, he made eye contact with a person at the other end of the wall who was laughing at him and he quickly identified that smile. "Kaaaaaaallllllllli!"
