Chapter 209: Interfernce
Chapter 209: Interfernce
Telvi stood hidden in the shadows of a safe building, her dark hair cascading down her shoulders as she observed the chaotic scene unfolding before her. Her heart pounded with conflicting emotions as she witnessed the intense battle between her husband Baktou and her saviour Garnt.
"What am I supposed to do? Why is this happening? Why can't we live happily?" Telvi kept questioning herself hoping to get answers. but she knew no one would be able to answer her questions.
Tears welled up in Telvi's eyes as she saw the devastation and death that surrounded the harbour. The clash between Baktou and Garnt was tearing apart not only their village but also their lives. She clenched her fists, torn between the man she had married and the one she had secretly loved.
In the midst of the battlefield, Telvi could hear the sounds of clashing swords, the echoes of powerful blows, and the desperate cries of men fighting for their lives. Unami and Kara struggled against Baktou's forces, their determination to protect Garnt evident in their every move.
Telvi's thoughts raced, torn between loyalty and desire. She wanted to run to the battlefield, to plead for the madness to stop, but the wall of Baktou's men and Garnt's people fighting blocked her path. She felt a deep sense of helplessness as the one she admired clashed with the one she was bound to by marriage.
"Baktou, stop it! We don't have to do this," She knew Baktuo wasn't fighting Garnt willingly but she still didn't know why he was doing all this because he wasn't telling her the true purpose of what she was doing, even after all these years.
As the battle raged on, Telvi's internal conflict reached its peak. She knew she had to make a choice, but the weight of that decision pressed heavily on her heart.
"I can't let them destroy each other," she muttered, her voice barely audible over the sounds of combat.
"I have to go! This is the best chance for me to stop these two and make sure they talk with each other. This might be the only way to stop the war." She thought about what she was going to do, but suddenly her gaze shifted to the massive metal pipe loaded with gunpowder, that was being operated by a strange group of people.
As she peeked through the window, she knew they were up to something because the group that operated the cannon looked rather familiar to Telvi.
"That woman! Where have I seen her before?" She questioned herself, but then she had a sudden realization as she saw part of her hair being violet-coloured.
"No way! What is Kalina doing here with that metal pipe?" Telvi whispered to herself, wiping away tears with the back of her hand. With newfound determination, she stepped out of the shadows and approached the window to take a closer look.
Telvi hesitated momentarily, her eyes flickering between the confusion of what was happening and the ongoing battle. A deep breath steadied her resolve, and suddenly she started to feel another pair of trembling hands on her palm and when she looked down, she saw her son Toga looking like he was on the verge of crying.
"Toga, don't worry! Mother will protect you," She muttered those words, but then she came to the quick realization of what was going to happen.
"Don't tell me- That woman is going to blow that thing into the battle?" She already knew about the cannons because Baktou talked about them, and she knew if that was blown into the army that was already injured it would be a massacre.
Garnt's eyes widened with realization, but Baktou's demeanour shifted drastically before he could react. His eyes started to bleed with an unnatural intensity, and his movements became erratic.
"It hurts! It hurts!" He started to shout and hit the floor as if his hands were itching to kill everything around him.
"Baktou, snap out of it!" Garnt pleaded, dodging a wild swing from his frenzied brother. The air crackled with tension as Baktou went berserk, his attacks becoming more ferocious.
Garnt, agile and desperate to avoid harm, weaved through the onslaught. His mind raced, trying to find a solution. Meanwhile, he observed the chaos unfolding around them—Garnt's men falling, Unami and Kara struggling to hold them back.
[Garnt, I asked you this question before you came here. You promised me you would do it if required and I think it is time. End this,]
In the midst of the battle hearing Eva's words, Garnt realized it was time to put an end to this madness.
With a determined expression, he took a deep breath and focused his energy. "I'm sorry brother, I can't let this continue," he muttered to himself since he knew Baktou wouldn't understand him anyway.
As Baktou lunged forward once more, Garnt made his move, redirecting the frenzied attacks away from him. With a swift and calculated motion, Garnt unleashed his hidden dagger coated with the same poison that made Moga paralyse, creating a chance for him to deal the final blow he needed.
Normally, this poison wouldn't have caused an instant reaction, but with the time he had, Garnt made the poison more potent, and it genuinely had the power to kill a huge wild animal.
Looking at Baktou, he had a flashback to when he fought Moga and his hands started to tremble.
[Garnt...]
Eva wanted to say something, but Garnt took a step forward showing he was ready. He took the sword and kept it on Baktou's neck, getting ready to behead his brother.
The chaos subsided, and Garnt stood in the centre, facing Baktou. "I don't want to hurt you, my brother, but I won't let this destruction continue. I don't know the reason why you hate me, but I don't hate you so I will end this with one hit. You won't even feel any pain."
Baktou, caught in the conflict within himself, glared at Garnt with a mixture of anger and desperation, but before things could go any further, Garnt heard a woman shouting asking Garnt to stop and he looked at her with a knowing look.
"Telvi, you're here. Stay back; this is not a safe place for you. Go back!"
