"He just hasn't seen the good parts of me yet! I just have to keep pushing until he cracks!"
"More like until he cracks your skull."
Turner scoffed after saying this and went back to work. When he noticed that Tina was really about to leave the office, he spoke up.
"If you go to Mark's house, Luna is going to fucking kill—"
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Three quick knocks on the door drew Turner's attention, and he gave Tina another warning look when she pouted at him before telling her to see who was there. Tina just huffed in annoyance before going to open the door.
On the other side of the door, Maria looked around the room quickly before her eyes settled back on Tina. She gave Tina a shaky nod, and Tina raised a brow in surprise.
"Vice President, what are you doing here?"
"C-Can I see Turner? There's something I need to tell him."
Maria's voice cracked at the start of her sentence, but she was barely able to bring it back to normal as she finished. From the way she was talking, Tina could immediately tell that Maria was nervous. Tina eyed Maria closely, looking her from head to toe before raising a brow in curiosity. What would Maria possibly want to talk to Turner about? Don't tell me she wants to confess to him or something.
Hehe! That would be hilarious!
After a few seconds, Tina finally decided that she didn't care enough to ask and leaned into the office and spoke up.
"Turner, the Vice President is here for you."
"Yeah, let her in. I'll see her."
Tina jabbed her thumb into the room to tell Maria to get in, and Maria thanked her before entering. Tina started to leave the office, and Turner asked her where she was going.
"Don't tell me you're going to Mark's house, Tina. I swear to God I'll—"
"I was only going to get something to eat, you bastard! Leave me alone."
After a few minutes, Turner slowly pulled Maria off his chest and spoke while trying to look her in the eye.
"Maria, tell me what happened. Who has your mother? What do you want to tell me?"
"Just promise me! Please, promise me that you'll save my mother!"
Maria was not going to say a word unless Turner promised her what she wanted, and Turner finally relented.
"I promise that I will do everything in my power to save your mother. But I can't do that if I don't even know what the fuck is going on. Now, tell me what happened."
Maria looked up into Turner's eyes to see if he was really telling the truth, and in there, she saw a strong resolve that was unshakable. Maria knew that Turner would really do what he said.
Maria cleaned her eyes and grabbed her skirt with both hands while talking.
"There... There was a man who called me a few minutes ago. I didn't know who he was, but he switched the call to FaceTime, and... The... the video was of a dark room. I couldn't see anything in there, but there was someone tied to a chair in the middle of the room. It was my mum.
The man held a gun to her head, and he told me that I had to do what he said or he would kill her. I can't lose my mum. I can't lose her!"
Maria began to bawl again, and Turner held her calmly as he waited for her to calm down.
Ka-Cha!
The sound of the door swinging open made both Turner and Maria turn to see who was there, and Tina gave them both a curious look with raised brows. What the hell were they doing? Wait, did Maria actually confess to Turner!?
Tina's face slowly gained a perverted look.
"Are the two of you about to fuck or something? Don't do that on the couch. I like that couch."
Maria blushed slightly and just started to clean her eyes, while Turner glared at Tina in anger as Tina went over to his table and sat down on it. She brought out the sandwich she bought and started eating it, and Turner realized with some anger that she hadn't bought him one. Tina noticed Turner's anger and just smiled at him without a shred of remorse.
This fucking bitch.
Turner turned away from Tina, and he missed when she brought out another sandwich from behind her and threw it on his table nonchalantly. Turner waited for Maria to be able to talk again, and when she looked like she could talk again, he finally asked the question.
"What did the man tell you to do?"
