Chapter 486: I Hate That Look of Superiority In Your Eyes

Chapter 486: I Hate That Look of Superiority In Your Eyes

Sasha charged in with five Calamity-class monsters flanking her on both sides, and she sent one of them forward to intercept a large blast of water that Luna sent at her! Sasha ducked to the side and flanked Luna, while the other Calamity-class monsters chased Luna down from the front to draw her attention.

Luna stood in the middle of a large pool of water she had created with her mana, her eyes coldly observing everything happening around her with a detachment that only pissed Sasha off the longer she saw it. Luna knew exactly what Sasha was doing. Those large Eldritch monsters standing still would be a problem if they attacked, and Luna knew Sasha was saving them for when her mana ran low.

Luna was only at about seventy percent mana right now since she’d wasted some during her fight against the Anima when she came here to find Arit, as well as in her battle against Arit. Luna eyed the monsters surrounding her and made sure to keep them at a distance as she continued forming a plan in her mind.

If she used twenty percent of her mana to deal with the calamities, she should be able to use the remaining fifty percent to handle the Eldritch monsters standing in the distance. It would be difficult to face all three at once, but Luna was confident she could take them down.

Sasha might be a SOVEREIGN, but that didn’t mean she was physically strong. Sasha had an enormous amount of mana that helped her maintain her ALTERWORLD and all the monsters inside it, but without those monsters, Sasha was no different from a regular S-rank. Luna was sure that if she took care of the monsters first, Sasha would be easy to deal with.

The only issue now was finding a way to round up all the monsters so she could attack them together. They were too scattered, and Luna wouldn’t be able to use her mana efficiently if she continued attacking randomly. If only her guild members were here, they could have rounded up the monsters for her. Or maybe if Mark was with her.

He would have served as a distraction so she could attack from a distance.

Well, there was no point dwelling on that for too long. In the middle of a fight, you don’t really have time to think too much, so Luna decided she would just keep the Anima at a distance and destroy them while finding a way to round them up, making it easier to handle them all at once.

With her mind set, Luna turned towards the calamities in front of her and sent her mana out in a wave, causing the water under her feet to form hundreds of spikes that shot up toward them! Some of the calamities were skewered by the spikes of heavy water, but those that managed to avoid them kept charging forward, unbothered.

What they didn’t expect was Luna suddenly heating the spikes to unbelievable temperatures, and before they knew what was happening, massive explosions echoed through the area as the superheated water imploded in their faces!

KA-BOOM!

The anima gave their lives as they were all skewered by the blades and died on the spot!

PHWOOM!

Sasha looked up as a loud sound echoed from the sky and her eyes widened as she saw Arit falling from the sky with more than twenty Anima following behind her! Sasha immediately jumped to the side to avoid getting body-slammed by Arit! What the fuck was this bitch doing!?

BOOM!

Sasha cursed in anger as Arit slammed into the ground with intense force! A large dust cloud rose over the area, and Arit had to move quickly as the swarm of Anima that had been following her slammed into the ground as well. Arit flew toward Luna with a shout!

"I’ll take care of the ones behind you! Help me get rid of the ones behind me!"

Arit flew past Luna and shot toward the monsters approaching from behind, and Luna immediately understood what Arit was trying to say. She formed more blades in the sky and sent them after the flying Anima that had been chasing Arit.

It was a lot harder for the flying Anima to dodge the blades due to their large wings and the effects of their sudden drop, so the blades impaled and skewered most of them, destroying their wings and pinning them to the ground!

Arit moved to the anima that had been trying to attack Luna from behind, and she started to slash at it with her nails like a wild beast! Arit dodged around an anima that tried to grab her, and she slashed through the neck of the anima at her side! She flapped her wings and took to the sky to avoid another anima that tried to seize her before she swooped back down and grabbed the anima’s head!

"RARRGH!"

SQUELCH!
