Chapter 627 The Central City
Chapter 627 The Central City
If the demon lord goes to the capital and actually signs the treaty, there was a chance that the demons who aren't in support would rebel.
Hunn had been trying his best to gain support for the demon lord's cause all this time and he had already gathered a significant number of demon clans that were in support of peace. But they were only about half of the demon race. The other half were not even bothering to listen to Hunn's words! They didn't care about peace, and as far as they were concerned, the demon lord was insane for even suggesting peace.
Hunn spoke up.
"My lord, perhaps we should try and postpone the meeting with the Angels for a few more days. The demon army is still very volatile right now, and there might be a lot of backlash if we sign the treaty."
Mark narrowed his eyes in irritation as he heard this before he sighed as he calmed his irritation, Mark knew that there would be those who didn't support this. It was normal.
"There will always be those against peace, Hunn. I don't know when another chance like this will present itself, so if we do not take this one, we might never get another one. We are going to the meeting and we will sign the peace treaty. Say you are with me."
Mark stared Hunn down with intensity, and Hunn felt all of his worries get pushed down under such pressure. Hunn decided then that they would have to deal with any form of rebellion after the peace treaty was signed. For now, they should focus on what was most important.
"Very well, my lord. I am with you."

"Are the preparations complete?"
The woman walked away, and Seraph walked back to the main throne room where three people were having a meeting. One of them was a tall, lanky man with short wings folded behind him. Another man, this one a more dignified-looking man with strong wings and an air of regality around him, was hunched over as he spoke into the ears of the third person in the room.
The third person was a young man with the largest wings you would ever see. The wings were so large and powerful-looking that it seemed unfit to be attached to someone so young. The young man had on pure white regalia with gold stitched into various areas, and on his head, he wore a white-gold crown over his white hair.

This young man was King Richard the Second, the youngest king that the angels had ever seen and the one who took up the throne after his father, King Richard the First, was killed in a battle against a previous demon lord.
King Richard the Second became king at the young age of thirteen, and because of that, he had needed advisors and aides to help him in making many of the decisions that affected his people. The strong, regal-looking man who was speaking into his ear at that moment was his most trusted aide, Ephraim.
Ephraim looked up once Seraph entered the throne room, and he asked how the war preparations were going.
"They are going well, my liege. The soldiers are prepared for any form of ambush, and you will have an entourage of the strongest warriors to protect you when you go to meet with the demons."
Ephraim nodded and told Seraph that he could leave, and Seraph bowed to the king once more before leaving the room. Once he left, King Richard turned to Ephraim.
"Ephraim, are you sure this is a good idea? Meeting the demons..."
Ephraim turned to look at his king before telling the last man in the room to leave as well so that they could talk privately. The lanky man bowed to the king and left before Ephraim spoke.
"We already spoke about this, your Majesty. This is an opportunity we cannot let pass."
