Pat didn't even know when he mentioned that he used his self-made algorithm to create a system for detecting mana, and it was only after the girl's eyes widened in shock that he realized what he had said!

Pat said all of this to Mark, and Mark felt like facepalming in annoyance. This bastard was a fucking idiot! The MDS was the most coveted piece of technology in the world right now, and anyone who found out Pat had it on him would definitely try to get to Pat by any means possible. It wouldn't even be a surprise if they started to send assassins after Pat to make sure that if they couldn't have it then no one else could have it either! Mentioning something like that to a random girl was just stupid!

Mark was about to say something else to Pat, but before he could talk, Luna spoke up.

"Grace, what are you doing?"

There was a hard undertone in Luna's voice that made even Mark turn to her in surprise, but his reaction was nothing compared to the girl who had been chasing Pat. The girl's body locked up like she had been frozen on the spot! Luna's face was set in a hard look of disappointment as she waited for the girl to say something, and as the silence dragged on, Mark could see sweat pooling on the girl's forehead from the fear!

"Grace!"

Luna suddenly shouted, and the girl was immediately on her knees in front of Luna, bowing!

"I'm sorry, Madam Luna! Please don't fire me!"

Mark hummed curiously and asked why Luna wanted her to meet him, and Luna said that it was because of what Mark had told her before. Mark had told Luna after his visit to Pat that the current state of things with both the Vanguard guild recruitment and the merger between their two guilds was going to be too much for Pat to handle on his own. Pat was doing a good job, but Mark could see from the look on Pat's face when they met earlier that Pat was not getting much sleep at all and the workload was getting too much for him.

"You said you wanted someone that could work with your vice-captain on the technical aspects of the merger and running the guild's digital presence. I don't know anyone else that can do a better job than her. She just graduated a year ago from school, but she's one of the smartest people I know."

Mark blinked in surprise and then looked from Luna to Grace and then over to Pat, who was staring at Grace with wide, disbelieving eyes. Mark's mouth first split into a grin before a chuckle escaped his lips and it wasn't long before Mark just started to laugh his ass off as he realized what was happening! These two were gonna kill each other!

Arit also chuckled a little as she knew what was happening, and Pat felt his head getting lighter as he suddenly felt like passing out. Pat spoke up with a tone that showed just how pissed off he was!

"Mark, what the fuck is he talking about!? I don't remember asking for this! I didn't ask you for any help, you bastard!"

Pat was fucking livid, but Mark just waved Pat's anger away as he spoke.

"Oh, come on, I could tell you needed the help. You're basically a one-man army handling all the digital aspects of our guild on your own as well as running part of it as the vice-captain. You'll have a lot more help when we merge with the Moonlight Guild, but right now, you can't do all the work on your own while still going to school. So I asked Luna if there was anyone who could help you with that, and well, here we are. Congratulations, Patrick! You have such a beautiful girl as your partner! You should be excited!"

Grace got up from the ground with a gasp, ran up to Patrick, and grabbed him faster than he could move out of the way! Patrick stumbled back and fell off his feet with a surprised cry!
