Strongest Superhuman System

Chapter 690 Red Spiders

Chapter 690 Red Spiders

"Pat! Focus!"

Mark spoke up roughly as he heard Patrick and Grace still arguing over the comms! Pat recognized the seriousness in Mark's voice and Pat swore a few more times before he finally relented and told Grace that she could stay but she should just not bother him! He had to finish something quickly!

Pat went into the system and redirected a few satellites that were linked to the Australian streetcam network towards his own computer. The signals were protected by a firewall just like always, but Pat didn't even need to use any effort as he broke through it and the images appeared on his screen.

At his side, Grace's eyes widened when she saw how effortlessly he was able to do that. Grace could do it too if she wanted, but she didn't think she would be able to do it with the sheer speed and efficiency that Pat just did!

Pat ignored Grace's staring as he spoke up.

[Mark, the nest is in the center of the city. It's a large interlock of webs that was weaved into some sort of ball-like structure. There is an entrance at the top of the nest, but there are hundreds of spiders leaving and entering it. Most of them are just disaster and calamity-class anima, but I can't tell what sort of ability they have from here, so you'll have to be careful when going in.]

Mark nodded as he let his eyes trail over the areas that they were passing. The helicopter started to enter Melbourne, and Mark could see that Pat was right about the nest. It was a large ball of webs that looked like something out of a horror movie. The web was tied between five large skyscrapers, and it floated in the air with hundreds of red spiders entering and leaving it constantly.

On the ground, the damage done to the city had left it in shambles as hundreds of people did their best to get as far away from the anima as possible. There were fires raging across the area with smoke rising from many burning buildings. Cars had been abandoned, and people were moving towards a bridge on the other side of the city. There were superhumans on the ground trying to hold back the anima to give the people time to evacuate.

There were about ten superhumans that Mark could pick out that had more power than the others. These superhumans were fighting against the horde of calamity-class spiders that were serving as the guards for the nest. If those superhumans were killed, then there would be no more danger to the spiders, and the city would be overrun.

The Superhuman Alliance members had already started highlighting from the helicopters. Normally, the number of Superhuman Alliance members sent here would be enough to take care of both the Eldritch as well as all the other smaller spiders, but it would take far too long, and the number of people that would die in the fight would be too large. Mark's presence here would reduce the time taken as well as the risks to almost nothing.

BZZT!!

Electricity sparked around Mark's body as he felt that thrill he always felt when he was in the middle of a battle coming back to him once again, and his lips split into a mad grin as he pulled his hand back with a roar and aimed a punch straight for the nest entrance!

"RAAAARGGH!!"

Mark's punch decimated the horde of anima blocking him from the entrance! Mark had tried to hold back as much as possible so that he wouldn't hurt anyone around, but the punch still sent a shockwave of air into the area that sent everything around Mark flying back!

The monsters that had been right beneath him were immediately killed on the spot, and those that were further away suffered major injuries! The nest in the middle of the city rumbled and shook from the wave as it tried to withstand the blow, but Mark didn't stop there as he immediately jumped into the hole leading into the nest!

Hundreds of spiders ran in after Mark to try and prevent him from getting to the Eldritch-class anima, and every superhuman around watched with bated breath as the region went silent for a moment.

One of the superhumans on the ground, a man named Henry, who was the head of one of the largest Australian guilds, felt his mouth go dry as he watched Mark enter the nest so easily. Henry was an S-rank, and he was one of the most powerful superhumans in Australia, but no matter how much money he was being paid or how much prestige he would gain, nothing in this world would have made him go into that nest for any reason!@@@@
