Mark couldn't help but chuckle once he heard what Arit said. Mark squeezed Arit's thigh gently and Arit's blush only deepened as Mark raised his hand on her cheek and brought her in for a kiss. Arit was just too cute when she was like this, and Mark couldn't help but love it!

Arit closed her eyes and hummed into the kiss, and when they finally separated, she opened her eyes to see Mark smiling at her.
Mark spoke up in a kind tone that did things to her stomach in ways she couldn't even describe.
"I'm not going anywhere, Arit. If you want, we can spend all the time in the world together."
Arit looked down at Mark's chest and nodded with a heavier blush on her face.
Ring~ ring~ Ring~
Arit's phone suddenly rang from beside her, and she reached out and turned it over to see who it was. Arit was already dreading seeing Jeanne's name in the caller tag because she thought Jeanne was about to call her back for another shift at the hospital. Arit had already finished her emergency room duty for the week and it was no longer necessary for her to go into the hospital, but that did not mean that Jeanne couldn't call at any moment and force her to come in on a whim. Jeanne was a fucking slavedriver and all of the apprentices had learned that the hard way.
But once Arit caught sight of who it was, her face darkened and a flash of yellow passed through her eyes before she turned it back over and just ignored it. Mark didn't even need to look at who was calling for him to know exactly who it was.
Arit suddenly turned to Mark as Mark called her name seriously. Mark gave her a serious look, and Arit grit her teeth and tried to stop the tears that were almost falling from her eyes. Just the thought of what almost happened back there was always enough to make Arit feel like crying. Mark sighed softly and smiled at Arit before he reached out and ran his hand over her cheek kindly.
"You're going to have to talk to him sooner or later, Arit. I understand that you're angry, but he loves you. He always has. I'm not going to tell you to forgive him, that's up to you, but you should give him a chance to make it up to you. And besides, I'm right here, aren't I? Arthur couldn't kill me even if he tried."
Arit put her hand between her thighs and pressed her legs together as she looked down. Mark's hand on her cheek was warm and kind, and she found her heart softening as she felt Mark's sincerity. Mark had basically forgiven her father since Mark knew that it wasn't really Arthur but Alec Ben who tried to get him that day. Arthur was just unfortunate enough to have been used by Alec and Henry. But it was harder for Arit because of the way things played out that day. As far as Arit was concerned, Henry and Alec Ben didn't even exist from her perspective. It was her father's actions that prevented her from being there for Mark! Anytime Arit saw her father, the QUEEN would go crazy with anger and rave about how Arthur almost killed Mark!
The QUEEN's anger would fuel Arit's anger and Arit's anger would spur the QUEEN on to get even angrier in a nasty feedback loop that prevented Arit from being able to calm herself, and there were a few moments when Arit even thought about killing her father. It was only the thought of all the things he had done for her that stopped her every time. But Mark was making a lot of sense. Arit knew that she was just punishing her father now by not giving him a chance to make it up to her. Arit nodded to Mark's words and promised to give her father a chance next time he called, and Mark smiled and spoke.
"That's my girl."
Arit blushed at Mark's words and was about to say something, but before she could say anything, Luna's voice rang through the house from downstairs!
"Mark! Arit! I found one for us to play! Come on!"
Mark chuckled and grabbed the last piece of toast from the table before reaching over and lifting Arit bridal style! Arit yelped in shock as she was suddenly lifted off the chair, but she finally joined Mark in laughing as he carried her over to the living room for them to join Luna.
