Chapter 77: Sapphire

Seth stood and looked through the car window and found the mother curled, protecting the baby from back and forth wreckage. Seth pushed away the mangled body of the mother and saw the young girl beneath, she was fine just in shock and then grabbed her.

Under his embrace, the one-year-old baby calmed down and stared at him. Then Seth walked to other cars, touching them which activated them and unlocked the doors.

Some of the cars' dead bodies, blood and gore spilt out, some of them half-living half-dead people and some of them were uncased, just in a state of shock. He moved around until he was tired and the baby on his hand became heavy to him while she was half asleep.

Seth then met a healthy old woman and gave her the baby and walked back to his car.

The moment he touched it, its body glowed blue then transparent. It was now fully activated. He sat in the driver's seat, confirming it was fully functional.

[Welcome Seth Enoch. You have imbued me with Terran Energy from your body and that upgraded me]

[Where would you like to go?]

"H..home!"

The GPS activated and set a mark then the car began to drive. Turning and taking the route where the Truck has cleared.

"Can we not take the road!" Seth let out.

[We could but don't you want to help them?]

Seth felt sorry for them, but he was too weak and couldn't help them all. By now he was almost slipping into sleep because he had exerted his body too much.

"I can't help them!" He whispered as tears rolled down his eyes.

[You are already helping them]

The car slowed down and he was surprised that any car he passed by unlocked its door after it activated. Many people are coming out.

"You can do that?"

[Yes. Terran Energy is the Future!]

[Active Terran Energy is a Better Future!]

"What is the difference?"

[Active Terran Energy is only found in higher life forms]

Seth nodded. Then the car took a sharp turn and went into the wilderness fast.

"Why?"

[You will see]

He was scared more than ever. What if someone has hijacked his car and found him special and now he was kidnapping him? But then the car came to an abrupt stop.

"I don't know how to name things...!"

Seth has any experience in naming things.

[Name me or the Central System will and I would have to send and receive information from them]

[We have ten seconds before my mother reaches me. Please name me...]

[We have 5 seconds. She is desperate..]

"SAPPHIRE!" Seth shouted.

There was a silence, as the car was running fast and it reached the asphalt and then sped up toward the city.

On a screen, at the dashboard, a loading was shifting slowly. It was the further upgrading of the car. By the time the car reached the city, the loading came to an end and then...

Seth was still lost with all the development until the car drove into their house and parked in its place.

Seth still stared at the light that was flashing in his eyes. The silence was filled with melancholy and shock that he had never been exposed to.

[We are home!]

He looked around and found familiar surroundings. He sighed but stayed in the car, the house was dark and even the neighbourhood was silent.

"You can make them... have electricity!"

[Yes. For security purposes I wouldn't]

[I'm Sapphire, an advanced and Intelligent Ride. I'm nurtured by you and you, I will serve. Anything that may cause a danger to you I will not do it]

[Don't be surprised, it's just that you have never come across AI like me]

That was true, there were a lot of AIs as smart as her but can only be found with Class As. But, Sapphire was a bit special because what activated its consciousness is Seth Energy and now she was bound to him and him alone.
