Chapter 427 Yi Xiaxia

Chapter 427 Yi Xiaxia

"...and then that stupid fuckin' client hinted that he wanted me to arrange a spot for him in the evening, to have some fun," my blood pressure shot up the moment I heard that!

"Every day I'm at work licking his boots, acting like his damn grandson isn't enough, now I gotta pimp for him after hours too? Don't I have any dignity?"

A man in a suit whose shoes shone from polishing slammed the table with a smack, exclaiming indignantly.

Meanwhile, a female office worker looking quite intellectual at the next table pushed up her glasses and said, "You're not doing too bad, I've got clients who want to have their fun with me."

"What?" Ma Lu and Ma Youyou, who were listening with keen interest, exclaimed in unison, "Did you agree to it?"

"Of course not, my salary's only seven thousand, am I really going to sacrifice myself for the company?"

The glasses-wearing lady paused, then added, "But if the salary was forty thousand, I might consider it, and for a hundred thousand, I'd be on it myself."

"Good, everyone's got their limits," Ma Lu praised.

"Alas, I didn't stick to mine," the suited man sighed, "In the end, I still went looking for him, asked several taxi drivers with a thick face, even posted on forums for help, got called a pervert, but I had no choice, I have a wife, kids, and a mortgage to pay, I really need this job.

He scratched his head, "Back in school, I never imagined I would turn into what I am now."

"I also thought after I graduated from college, I'd be a manager at a big company," the lady with glasses added, "not just scraping by, waiting for death in some unknown small business, stealing a salary."

"I never thought I'd become a boss either, and so well-liked by everyone," Ma Lu commiserated.

"Pfft!"

"Pfft!!!" The lady with the glasses flipped her middle finger.

"By the way, today's my birthday, can you give me a discount, boss?" the suited man asked.

"Sorry, no can do, my place never discounts since that would be unfair to other customers."

Just as the suited man looked disappointed, Ma Lu added, "However, I was planning on holding a raffle today, the prize being a glass of Cat Piss Beer. You two are the only customers right now, so go ahead and draw."

As Ma Lu spoke, he took a pen, sketched a cat's head on a sticky note, and then grabbed another blank note, crumpling them both into little balls and tossing them into an empty napkin box.

The lady with glasses drew first, holding her breath as she unfolded the paper, then let out a sigh of disappointment.

The last thought flashed through his mind—

Was this a kidnapping? But he wasn't a homeowner here.

...

One second, Yi Xiaxia was practicing piano in the music room, and the next, she opened her eyes to find herself in complete darkness.

Around her, other frightened voices rang out, "Where is this, where am I?"

"I want to go home! I want to go home!!! You're unlawfully detaining me, do you know that's against the law?"

"I don't have any money, you've got the wrong person, I have been unemployed at home for seven years now, and my parents have also disowned me, you should kidnap rich people instead..."

"Let me out quickly, I don't want to be here, waaaah, my boyfriend will come to save me..."

Besides screams and cries for help, Yi Xiaxia heard loud banging noises, as if a restless beast were striking against an iron cage.

Like everyone else, she was scared, but Yi Xiaxia still took several deep breaths, forcing herself to calm down.

Because she knew that the more dire the situation, the more necessary it was to stay clear-headed.

Yi Xiaxia first checked her body and found she was unharmed and her clothes were still intact, which provided a slight relief.

After that, she put her finger to her mouth, wanting to bite her nails.

It was a subconscious action when she was thinking, but this time her finger was blocked by something.

Yi Xiaxia was startled initially then continued to feel the cold object, eventually realizing that a mask had been placed on her face at some point.

What was strange was that Yi Xiaxia couldn't find any straps or anything else that would secure the mask; it was as if it had grown onto her face. If her fingers hadn't touched it, she wouldn't even be able to feel its presence.

She then tried to remove the mask but failed.

The mask seemed to have fused with her skin, and the thought that she might be disfigured caused Yi Xiaxia's breathing to quicken again, during which someone running wildly stepped on her hand.

The pain intensified the fear in her heart. Although she knew that panicking was useless, she was, after all, just a college student and couldn't control her instincts.

But just then, the lights came on.
