Chapter 484 System's Confinement - 3

What had once appeared as simple enhanced forms now revealed complex patterns of elemental interaction.

More surprising was their growth - his new awareness could detect their levels immediately. Most had reached 22, with some pushing 23. Their corruption signatures pulsed with shared power, distributed more evenly now that there were so many carriers.

"You can see it now, can't you?" Dionz asked, noting Elio's fascination with their elemental patterns.

"We've been busy," Lila spoke through Gorgita. "The cores from daily challenges let us acquire higher-tier invocations. Each new one increases our magical damage output."

"But the corruption spheres remain our biggest source of power," Selene added, her fish form's neon-helium mix creating beautiful patterns in Elio's enhanced vision.

Kriz's Mirror Coat shimmered with excitement. "The deposits are secured, the tunnels are ready, and we've been gathering potions and training recruits."

"We can field fifty level 20 warriors now," Mei reported through her falcon-swift combination. "All we need is the signal to move against the last deposit to kill the artromus."

Elio studied their enhanced forms with his new perception.

"Take these," he decided, producing 50 more corruption spheres. "But wait for those fifty warriors to have good combinations and control before engaging the artromus. Meanwhile, with my new understanding of elemental interactions, I need to do some book challenges first."

"You can see more now?" Lila asked, noting how his gaze.

"Level 30 corruption opens up quite the view!" Dionz explained cheerfully. "He's not just seeing elements anymore - he's seeing how they speak to each other!"

"The chain reactions I've been using," Elio elaborated, "I think I can make them more efficient now. The way elements flow into each other, how they can be guided into more powerful combinations..."

"...But more importantly, I need to master this new perception quickly. The book challenges will let me practice without losing time."

"We'll prepare the assault force," Selene promised. "Fifty level 20 warriors, all equipped with potions and proper support."

"The daily challenges have been providing excellent training opportunities," Kai added through his torpedo-hummingbird form. "And the cores we're getting are much more powerful than before."

Elio watched the elegant dance of argon and neon in Kai's combination, understanding now why it provided such precise control.

"How long do you need?" Kriz asked.

"A few days or less," Elio calculated. "This new awareness changes everything about how I approach challenges."

"We'll be ready," Lila assured him. "The corruption spheres you've provided, combined with our enhanced invocations... we're so much stronger than when we first tried reaching you."

"Just remember," he advised as they prepared to return, "no matter how strong you feel, wait for the full force to be ready. Twenty artromus require perfect coordination to avoid accidents."

Their shared awareness filled with what was definitely Nala's embarrassment at being caught. 'This shared consciousness arrangement is becoming increasingly inconvenient.'

'You mean because you can't pretend you don't find human activities fun anymore?'

'The progress is unnecessarily slow,' Nala changed the subject, though they both knew why she was really checking so often.

'Want me to tell you about human games to pass the time?'

'Absolutely not.'

'Too late, already remembering them!'

Memories of game nights filled their shared consciousness - the laughter, the competition, the simple joy of playing together. Nala tried to maintain her divine distance, but Zara could feel her fascination with these glimpses of human interaction.

'The concept of voluntarily engaging in activities designed to be inefficient is...' Nala began. Your journey continues on My Virtual Library Empire

'Fun?' Zara suggested. 'Entertaining? Something you're secretly wishing you could try?'

'Anthropologically significant.'

'You're doing that thing again where you try to make everything sound boring instead of admitting you're curious.'

'Divine beings do not experience mere curiosity.'

'Says the goddess who spent three hours asking me about human traditions.'

'That was...'

'Research? Study? Important divine investigation into human patterns?'

Their shared consciousness vibrated with what was definitely not Nala's suppressed amusement. 'Your insolence is becoming concerning.'

'Your growing fondness for my insolence is what's concerning you.'

'This rate of progress is unacceptable,' Nala muttered, though they both knew she was just trying to change the subject again.
