Chapter 14: Fox Clan

The next day, early in the morning, a car was already prepared for four people, Jace, Scarlet, Jun Hie and Haoyu. They were going back to the Fox Clan like they should have a long time ago. Scarlet's secret guard, the middle aged woman would temporarily manage the Red Light District and the Red Light District Hotel until someone from the family would come and take over.

Jun Hie sat in front with Haoyu and Jace on the back with Scalet. Jun Hie, who had now become a chauffeur for the young couple was very happy because he got to sit and chat with the not so talkative Haoyu while Jace and Scarlet also chatted about their own business.

Jun Hie was smart enough to not ask about high level stuff and only asked about questions that would help increase his cultivation level. Since Jun Hie was talking about low level stuff, Haoyu didn't mind giving him a few pointers. Seeing that this trip might be more beneficial than he'd initially thought, Jun Hie put the car on auto-drive and started to digest the information Haoyu had given him.

“We've finally found the location. Let's quickly investigate and leave this place, it's very cold here.”

“Was all the snow on City 5432 brought to the Primeval Forest, is this why the snow is very thick?”

“Guys, focus on the mission. We came here to investigate, let's do that and leave.”@@@@

A group of people in black winter clothing stood in front of the snow filled cave entrance. They even wore balaclavas and snow goggles so their appearances were completely hidden. The group then started digging through the snow while constantly complaining about the hard labour which they weren't used to doing.

“Guys, stop complaining and focus on the mission. Don't forget that we're just slaves for the masters, if our investigation yields great results, our rewards might be greater than what was initially promised. We might even get the chance... to be part of the clan so stop complaining and continue digging.” said someone in the group and everyone stopped complaining and worked hard.

Unbeknownst to Haoyu, someone was already starting their investigation on him including and was starting with the cave aboard that Haoyu had used for his breakthroughs.

The trip to the Fox Clan took a total of two days and after two days, they finally reached their destination without any mishaps or problems along the way. Jace had either spent his time chatting with Scarlet, eating or sleeping, mostly sleeping so he didn't pay much attention to his surroundings.

The hover car was driving through thick foliage and trees and then suddenly disappeared completely from sight after coming into contact with what seemed to be an invisible barrier.

“The First Ancestor of the Fox Clan greets Senior!”

“The Second Ancestor of the Fox Clan greets Senior!”

“The Third Ancestor of the Fox Clan greets Senior!”

“The Fourth Ancestor of the Fox Clan greets Senior!”

“The Fifth Ancestor of the Fox Clan greets Senior!”

“The Descendants of the Fox Clan greets Senior!”

The five elders were the first to cup their fists and greet Haoyu with utmost respect. The descendants of the Fox Clan all fell on their knees as they greeted Haoyu with utmost respect. And in response, all Haoyu did was nod.

“Haoyu, show some respect to my future in laws! You dare to make even the elderly bow their heads so low for you!” said the half angry and half embarrassed Jace. Although this scene just now was super addictive, he remembered that these people would soon become his in laws so he flooding allow Haoyu to distract them.

Jace was angry that Haoyu didn't utter a single word even when people greeted him and was embarrassed because he hadn't taught Haoyu any etiquette as his master. He had once read a novel that said;

‘The actions of the slave represent the thoughts of the master.’

Jace didn't want to leave the impression that he was someone who was arrogant and looked down on everyone. If Haoyu knew Jace's current thoughts, would his nonchalance break or not?

Haoyu then quickly rushed to help the elders up as instructed by his master. Everyone except for Jun Hie and Scarlet were complete aghast by how Jace spoke to Haoyu and even ordered him around. They wondered if they'd sensed wrongly and the Nascent Soul Realm expert was actually Jace. Now, all eyes were focused on Jace, who became even more embarrassed.

“I-I'm sorry for the way my servant conducts himself. I promise that it wasn't intentional but his character. Please don't take offence to his actions, I'll teach him proper etiquette to ensure that this scene doesn't repeat itself in the future.” said Jace.

“AARGHHH! COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!” Haoyu on the other hand choked on his saliva after hearing what Jace said.
